Trump's financial disclosure covering 2025 reported about $1.4 billion in cryptocurrency income: $636 million from the $TRUMP memecoin launched days before his inauguration, and $799 million from World Liberty Financial, the family's crypto venture, including token sales.
Of about 1.48 million wallets that bought the memecoin, roughly two-thirds had lost money by June 2026, a combined $3.8 billion according to the blockchain analytics firm Nansen. The coin fell about 97 percent from its peak; Trump-affiliated entities control most of the supply and earn fees on trades. In May 2025, Trump hosted a private dinner for the coin's 220 largest holders, many of them anonymous or foreign.
The earnings came as his administration dropped crypto enforcement cases, pushed laws favorable to the industry, and pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, whose exchange had a business relationship with World Liberty Financial.
